1. Elmer Gantry
2. Sayonara
3. Whatever Happened To Baby Jane

So many musicals we have heard of & never hear from again. I think Sayonara may have been @ Papermill but that is it. I remember hearing about a musical "They Shoot Horses Don't They", " A Wonderful Life " & " Say Hello To Harvey" also.

I never read anything good about the "Baby Jane" musical. The book and songs were horrible, according to the few scattered reviews I found on the web. I always thought the movie would make a fab musical, in the right hands.

After Paper Mill, Sayonara was produced on the West Coast, I believe, directed by Larry Fuller. After that, nada. Which is not surprising since it is a H-U-G-E, economically prohibitive show (at least in its original incarnation) and, frankly, not a very good one. Last but not least, its treatment of Asians is dated, to say the least. Unless a sudden tidal wave of nostalgia brings old-fashioned operettas back to Broadway, I wouldn't expect to see Sayonara any time soon.

Personally, I'm wondering what ever happened to Rhythm Club which has been announced for several seasons now (usually at MTC) and has failed to materialize.

Marin Mazzie played a neighbor on Still Standing on CBS back in November. Kevin Nealon from SNL played her husband.

Joanna Gleason is starring in the hit off-Broadway revival of THE NORMAL HEART. She played one of Rachel's bosses on FRIENDS.
MARIN is in LA doing TV.
FRANC LUZ moved to LA years ago and has done some STAR TREKs.

Joanna was also on the short-lived sitcom Bette. She was great, and so was the show. Too bad someone's diva attitude got it cancelled. *Hint...it wasn't Joanna's. lol

I totally agree.
I have every episode on tape and enjoy watching from time to time.
I wish they would put the episodes on DVD.

That could have been a great long-running sitcom.

I worked with Ken Jennings in the early '90s and he is a very pleasant man - has a really good heart, but for some reason (maybe his size?) he always gets cast in roles that require him to be sinister (even Toby at the end of Sweeney, when he's lost his mind...very creepy)...but still, he's a very nice guy.

THE RHYTHM CLUB was only announced once for this MTC season. LYNNE MEADOW (Artistic Director on MTC) demanded that she direct the production at MTC and the creators of the show felt she was the wrong person and said NO so SHE dropped the show from the season...what a nasty thing to do to two up and coming talents. So much for supporting new voices in the theatre. Matt and Chad are now working on THE WEDDING SINGER and Margo Lion is producing.
