Posted: 6/14/04 at 3:52amI heard about the filming of this movie a while back with Zoe Saldana, Adam Pascal, Orfeh, and some other bway names. Does anybody know what the status of the movie is or if and when it's being released?

Posted: 6/14/04 at 8:56amIt's either shockingly bad, or has producers that aren't really on the ball, or have moved on to other projects. I wonder if they even know they now have two Tony award winners, in the already stellar cast. I doubt that major movie studio would care about that fact but, you'd think they would at least put it out straight to video.

Posted: 6/14/04 at 5:20pmDitto, Truth. You and I, from what I gather, have very similiar taste in female artists. I think Saldana is a beauty. And I am a huge Cerveris fan. Don't know how she'll hold up next to such *freak* singers like Rose, Orfeh, et al, but she sure will be lovely to look at. Let's cross our fingers, although, I fear a release is not looking too promising. It's been in the can a while already.

I went to that website and from the clips they showed it looks like a good straight to video type movie. I don't get who's greenlighting some of these bad movies I see all the time that are the same and something a little more unique gets shelved. I saw Soulplane and that made me wanna jump out of a plane.
Al, I know we've posted on a lot of the same topics. I was just curios as to some of the female artists you like. I really like Zoe. I think it will be interesting to see how Hollywood handles her because it seems like she's been sortof put into the black actress category, but she's not the typical black actress.

i havent seen the whole thing, just extended clips. the whole movie is done with green screen. i thought alice, manley and adam were good but the effect just doesnt seem to work. the actors look too seperated from the background so the whole thing looks disjointed.
