Hi there! :) I'm really glad you were able to see the production, and enjoyed it! I was the Reed 1 player in the orchestra, and playing this show was probably the highlight of my summer. Wasn't Mary Catherine (Beth) just AMAZING?! I was never able to get through her "Not A Day Goes By" without tearing up a little bit (and it's hard to play those flute solos when you're crying!).
Anyway, thanks for coming, and yes, wouldn't it be LOVELY to see this show on the big stage!!
I have doubts about there being a Broadway revival of this show. As much as I like the score the book problems have never been solved--not just because it moves backwards. There is a problem at the center of the show in that you can't really figure out why everyone is so mad at Franklin Shephard and I've never seen this resolved in any of the revised scripts. The only way I could see this show coming back to Broadway is if a brilliant, scaled down version came from London or something like that. It's a wonderful score for a so-so show--and I've seen 3 different revisions of it.

I have this dream of a college and a local elementary school teaming up for a reimagined production of MERRILY where the kids start in middle age and then really do get younger.
Sort of a Dainty June in reverse -- Mary shrinks and stops drinking, Charley and Franklin become boy sopranos for "Our Time." And a happy ending and everyone gets souvenir sippy cups to take home.
Trevor Nunn, give me a call!
