Yes, boys & girls it is that time again. Time for the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Will he surpass his goal again ? How many of the 21 plus hours will he actually do? You got to give him credit for even attempting it in the shape he is in

You know, I was thinking, the telethon is certainly not the big event it once was. But over the many years it has been produced, there must be some real gems of entertainment captured on all of that tape. DVD of the best moments, anyone? I think it's time for the "Jerry's Lost Treasures" DVD! (Maybe it already exists, now that I think of it.)

Well lets hope he raises lots of money for his kids.

And here's also hoping everyone here has a happy and safe holiday!

Why do they only think New York audiences only like Broadway. Hey, even though there is not many, people in Ohio like Broadway too! re: re: re: re: re: re: When You Walk Through A Storm .....

I recorded Sammy Davis Jr. on the telethon many years ago, singing Music of the Night. And he set it up by giving the backstory. It's a classic! "There was this cat who lived under the Opera House, man." His version of the song is priceless!

From what I heard, Hairspray performed last night. I believe Millie is also supposed to perform.

Hairspray was one of the first performances of the telethon last night, and it wasn't just for the NY audiences, it was national. They performed "Nicest Kids in Town" and the Dynomites sang "Welcome to the 60s". They did a great job --

Before I fell asleep last night they had Maureen McGovern. Now she should come to broadway. There is a talented voice. Just an idea for re-casts.

For those that didn't catch Clay Aiken (since we've been talking about him lately) on the telethon, before Jerry introduced him, Jerry said that when they announced Clay would be performing on the telethon -- Clay supportors inundated the website with emails and sent in over $30,000 just to show their thanks at having Clay perform. He said in all his years he had never seen anything like the groundswell that surrounded Clay.

Good for him.

He did it again. He looked horrible. I wonder if his body will be like this until he dies or will it improve. He seemed to be sensitive to the bright light & also seemed to almost be gasping for air at times. Hopefully, he will return to a semblence of good health.

Ok, I'm having a brain block--just who is Clay Aiken? Which show is he in?

I thought I'd know him when I saw/heard him but nothing is clicking.

He was the runner up on American Idol.

Darn, I missed Hairspray! I have never seen them perform "Nicest Kids In Town" or "Welcome to the 60s!" When is Millie supposed to perform?

Well, since I have a disease very close to what Mr. Lewis has...this year meant a lot more to me than previous years. I have been watching the Telethon for over 30 years, but this year I found myself glued to the screen everytime Jerry was on. Clay came on...and I found myself dialing in. I couldn't give much, but no matter what, I felt the need to help. My theory is that if Jerry can do as much as he did in the last 24 hours, so can I!

On a side note..one of my most favorite memories was watching Jerry and Jarrod on stage together in 1994 in Damn Yankees. For those who know Jarrod, you know he RARELY breaks character...well, Jerry did some Hey Lady stuff and Jarrod just lost it. It took him several minutes to recover. The audience ate it up!

Clay sang Bridge Over Troubled Water. Jerry said he thought Clay should have won American Idol.

What does Jerry have that has him in his current condition?

If, it's alright to ask, what do you have, Piglet? If you don't want to post it, you can PM me.

Oh what I would do to have a recording of Jane Pickens Langley singing "Look At Us We're Walking" before the public woke up and realized it was the most tasteless and demoralizing thing ever put on TV!!!!!! Does anyone remember it?
