When do they announce who is performing at the Tonys?

maybe, but the producers of this show know that medley's don't help a show, and this show will not be benefitted by a medley... my opinion is that they would be best benefitted by an revised finale. it's a great tune and it concludes three great performances, all up for tony's, one pretty much guaranteed.

Just remember last year we all thought WICKED would for sure do "For Good" because it gave both leading (and nominated) ladies equal performance time, and definitely NOT Defying Gravity because it gave away the ending of Act I.

Just saying that one never knows.

I want to write music. I want to sit down right now at my piano and write a song that people will listen to and remember and do the same thing every morning...for the rest of my life. - Jonathan Larson. Tick, Tick...BOOM!

I think the best song that would demonstrate what Piazza is all about is "Say it Somehow"...but it doesn't include Vicki.

"What was the Caroline or Change fiasco? I was actually at a RENT tour the night of the Tonys last year, so I missed them. Please explain! Also, are shows closed the night of the Tonys? Since it's a Sunday, do they have the matinee or not?"

Last year, Tonya Pinkins performed "Lot's Wife" at the Tonys. The song is perfection in the show, but outside of it, it just sounds like an angry woman screaming for five minutes. Not to mention that Ms. Pinkins was straining all over the place. It was not a good representation of the show.

I would LOOOOOVE for Spam to do "Find Your Grail"! Sara is so fantabulous, I'd just die! It'd also be great if they did "The Song That Goes Like This". And if DHP were nominated, the Jew song would've been great.

DRS is a hard call. I would hope that they'd do "Great Big Stuff" because it shows off Norbert's talents. I would hate it if they did Ruffhousin on the Tonys, it's just not the best thing to bring in new theatergoers. But I do love the yodeling! And eventhough they probably won't do it, I'd do anything to see them perform "All About Ruprecht".

Even though DHP didn't get nominated, and the song doesn't feature Ramirez, Curry, or Azaria, I'm still hoping Spamalot will bust out "You won't succeed on Broadway."

There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

kyle i was thinking maybe that too... i think that's the most likely, but i would love for them to do the title number for kelli to let her vie against sara... we'll see... can anyone answer my question about "say it somehow"???

I don't really see Defying Gravity as giving away anything. How could you not know she is going to fly? And its not really ruining the plot as much as a production element. The DRS finale lyrically gives away the ending so they'd have to alter lyrics or something to do it at the show.
