Posted: 6/25/08 at 4:51amDoes anyone know when the bank of america tower (the building that replaced the original Henry Miller's Theatre) is going to open up? And, when does roundabout start to use the new Henry Miller's Theatre?

Posted: 6/26/08 at 11:46amI just walked by the other day. I'm assuming there is nothing left of the original interior (which was in tatters anyway), but I applaud the architects for preserving the facade in the very modern glass tower!

Posted: 6/26/08 at 1:47pmIt has been a long time since I walked down that street so I haven't seen what progress they have made with the building. I was bored and was watching a video on the roundabout website that was talking about all the new shows that they are going to do this season. They mentioned all the theatrs that the shows are going to be in and they didn't say a thing about Henry Miller's Theatre. I was under the impression that the opening of the building and the theatre was to take place this fall. But, maybe they changed it.

The facade is all that remains of the old Henry Miller's. The structure behind it comprising the theatre itself is new construction. I'm glad they preserved something from the original house.
The orchestra section will be one flight down from the street and the mezz entrance will be street level. Instead of two balconies, there will be one. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but I think the seating capacity will be about the same.
