That's a big part of my prob with Tarzan--I think the music just really has a hard time working in a theatrical sense. The movie stuff was written basically to be sung OVER the action--I almost owuld have gone and gotten someone else to do largely a new score. I think Crowley's design was at least interesting (is it true what Wikipedia says that he'sdoing the Mermaid redesign? That could be worth something...)

Robert Jess Roth directed the first production of Aida in Atlanta, which Disney was pretty unhappy with, and subsequently replaced him for the Chicago and Broadway production. It could be that there was some bad blood between them over that.

I'm also guessing that Disney has dropped plans for a tour, since they have released the rights to several professional companies already (not sure if amateur rights are also available at this time).
