Indeed. The homos are everywhere on Broadway. Isn't it just fab?
Oh, I forgot to add to my post...anyone who makes any argument on a subject matter as serious as racism would do well to use proper grammar, punctuation, and the like. It helps people take you more seriously.

I'm curious as to why the only person you deem as making a contribution of intellegent discussion is the one person who agrees with you?

tourboi, one of my posts was fully intentional..poking fun at the writing style of color purple..written VERY phoneticly.
What does James Earl Jones have in common with Tiger Woods -- I think I missed that day.

So let's see....Hot Feet was a largely black show, as someone else mentioned. Lion King, for all of its multi-cultural content, has a lot of african influences within the material, and a lot of african americans in its cast. The Color Purple is going strong, and about to open a tour. The Wiz just had a major revival at La Jolla, with rumors of a transfer (though at this point who knows).
it's insulting for you to consider LION KING a black show. they are effing ANIMALS for christs sake. think about your statement for a moment. The Wiz is NOT on broadway. im not talkin about a transfer in limbo that is uncertain to happen. im talkin about whats happening now and the serious decline in relation to the past.

good.
its one of the things that drives me NUTS in Color Purple.... and almost every R7H script show I do... reading the libretto when you have to learn it is like reading a foreign language.

I just laughed out loud.
Oh my lord. I didn't say it was a black show because they were animals in any way, shape, or form. I said the material has a lot of african influences, which is true. The score, and much of the choreography is heavilly influenced by african chants, rythms, and music.
Thats all I said. Wow.

So nothing I, or other folks, have added is serious? Because we're disagreeing?

hahahahahahaha. Yes, and Tarzan is racist because they have a few black folk dressed as gorillas.
"Black" shows were created out of a need.... Broadway was heavily segregarted.... NO actors of color were getting work because nothing was "color blind". In a day where you have Stokes in La Mancha and Audra in 110... it isn't as relevant to NEED those shows.
I'd be curious to see the statics of the perfentage of roles on broadway being played by african americans vs the percentage of african american's in the population...... THAT would be interesting.

My point with LION KING is that it is a heavilly african influenced show, and could therefore be counted with COLOR PURPLE. And no, thats not a bad thing. It's a very good thing.

Not dismissing at all. Pointing out things/shows you're omitting from your original argument is all.
Where are the black shows? I don't know.

I understand this is a subject of passionate interest for you, but you need to stop trying to provoke people here. You have a lot to offer in terms of educating people and making them aware of your point of view, but the minute you start being angry with posters they discount your insights and opinions and you're labeled an angry troll.
It may feel good momentarily to lash out, but it doesn't help get your point across in a meaningful way.

I myself am not provoked, but I recall your past visits here and they have the same pattern and the same outcome. So, you're just a troll after all.
