*claps* Tee hee. I like being naive. Or right.

Hail the Brown!

I feel sorry for Jesus if he ever comes back. He doesn't have a SIN. Poor soul.

Boy, did I miss something once I went to bed...

Let me state for the record that I never ONCE believed he actually beat his wife. That was just the very last rumour I heard about him.

re: Where the hell did Jason Robert Brown go?

First of all, welcome to Mr. Brown. And thanks to the majority of you out there who have been friendly and respectful to him. I have been a huge fan of Mr. Brown's work since discovering The Last Five Years last year. What a clever and well-realized concept and what extraordinarily beautiful and funny and touching songs. I drove from Los Angeles to San Diego adjacent Solana Beach to see a superb production of TL5Y in December. Jeremiah Lorenz and Erin Cronican were perfection in the North Coast Rep production. I wonder if Mr. Brown has heard about this truly lovely version of his work. I also had the semi-misfortune to see an inferior version presented in North Hollywood earlier this year. Stef Tovar was very good, if a bit too old, but memo to Tricia Small: please realize the limitations of your voice and never again purchase the rights to a show you do not have the range to sing. That being said, I also had the extraordinary good fortune to travel "up north" to Ventura to see the acclaimed "coffee house" production of Songs for a New World, which I believe also impressed Mr. Brown quite a bit. And...I love the OCR of Parade. Hope to see that someday. Mr. Brown, well I'm older than you so may I call you Jason, I have just purchased my ticket to see you at the El Portal on Friday the 10th. I hope that many other Angelinos will join me in welcoming you to our city for your two-night show. I personally cannot wait!!!
Sincerely,
Steven Stanley

Yeppers: First of all, because it is. Second of all, if Craig (who works for the freakin' website) says he is, then it must be true. This is so exciting ya'll!

*claps with enthusiasm* you rock JRB! Thank you for your many contributions to the musical theatre world. I'm a recent fan of yours. My college did a fabulous job of L5Y in December and since then I've picked up a copy of SFANW! Hopefully I'll get Parade soon but just wanted to say thanks for writing such great songs. I'm singing a whole bunch of them in my voice lessons. The way you write music is so unique. I guaruntee I will buy a copy of your solo album. Anyways, I'm glad you posting on this site it's really quite wonderful. I hope you enjoy your time here in our little big community!

Welcome Jason. I am, like many others here, a huge fan of your work. You are one of my favorite composers, next to Sondheim. The Last Five Years is constantly in my CD player. As is SFANW and Parade which are also both wonderful scores.

re: Where the hell did Jason Robert Brown go?

hey everybody-
wow it's always cool when someone famous posts. I was just wondering if anybody knows if he has any plans on doing a show here in Chicago or anywhere in the midwest...i'm dying to see a concert live but it seems like there always in NYC Cali, or north Carolina. Chicago would welcome with open in arms and we have a great theater scene. *crosses fingers and hopes for the future

I'm so glad you have blind faith in anything that's posted here.

I guess I'll slap on a pic of Ethel Merman and say I'm her.

Welcome! While I hate fawning, I must say that I greatly respect your work and you have become one of my favorite composers with The Last 5 Years and Songs for a New World.

This site and threads like this are why I continue to post here. I love it when something so unexpected happens!
BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"

re: Where the hell did Jason Robert Brown go?

Welcome to Broadway World Mr. Brown!

I know eleven thousand people before me have already said it, but I am a great admirer of your work. I love "Songs for a New World". My showchoir did 'On the Deck of a Spanish Sailing Ship, 1492' as our ballad last year (knocked everyone's socks off everytime!). I'm looking forward very much to seeing the show at a local professional theater this summer!

I discovered "The Last Five Years" recently, and it now lives in my cd player.... I have to go and feed it right now... lol.

Good luck with your upcoming solo cd and your concerts. If your tour brings you to Cleveland, I'm so there!
