I saw Hairspray a few weeks ago and its still as amazing as when it opened. I absolutely adore this show. And Diana DeGarmo is adorable as Penny. So Thank you Marc Shaiman for a wonderful broadway experience!

*Adds an insane amount of love for this show*
It's probably my favorite musical.
Did someone say Tyler Hanes?? I need to see him go on as Link one of these days....
And waitttt!! Is Andrew leaving?

Tyler is an AMAZING Link...got to see him his first and second time on. And he is such a sweetheart. I'll be so sad when he leaves the show for A Chorus Line.
Andrew will be leaving the show in July, July 16th to be exact. So if you haven't seen him or want to see him again, definitely go before then. Andrew is a great Link, so much better than Richard Blake.

I told Tyler I need to see him go on as Link before he leaves for ACL...hopefully that will happen. I'm thrilled he's moving onto another great show though...can't fault him for wanting to try something new and putting his amazing dance skills to work in ACL. He's been such a nice guy on the occasions when I've spoken with him so I can't help but hope he does well.
I've seen Andrew lots and LOVE his Link. And you're right...I like his take on the character more than Richard H. Blake's. The first time I saw Andrew as Link was as Richard's understudy....and I was so happy they hired him as full time Link when Richard left. I hope Andrew's moving onto another show though!

Andrew is definitely my favorite Link... and such a sweetheart... i can't wait to see him again next week...
funniest thing had to be when i saw him go on as Corny last summer... he was still great, but it just seemed odd... although it did make the whole Corny/Brenda storyline more believable...

Posted: 4/24/06 at 4:54pmWait where did you get the Corny/Brenda idea? I never picked up the idea that Corny was the father of her baby. If any character was, it would be Brad I thought. Please explain.

Aaaww, nice to see the kudos for Mr. S. Hairspray is my happy show. I haven't seen it with Diane DeGarmo, need to do that soon.
I am also so looking forward to seeing our Mr. S on stage with Martin Short. *happy dance*

Posted: 4/24/06 at 7:53pmi didn't pick up on the whole Corny/Brenda thing until a friend pointed it out to me. if you watch them, they eye each other a lot and even have a moment where they are off to the side talking privately. it's interesting!

I dont remember where i read that whole Corny and Brenda- thing.. but I know i did soemwhere. I know I didnt make it up.
I hope (yet doubt) that there is a lil "somethin'somethin'" alluding their involvement in the film.
Yet, I really doubt it...
first -I question Leslie Dixons (the screewriter) knowledge of the show...
and second - stage musicals dont really have ratings... if the movie included this lil piece of info, the possible (and I assume) pg-13 rating might be pressured.
I hope the film isnt completely 'naughty free.'
