Which Broadway Show is Worth the $$?

Spelling Bee is a bit overrated too in my opinion. Spamalot was okay, nothing FANTASTIC, but still great. Wicked exceeded my expectation since I've heard many negative reports about it online. The other show that I thought was worth paying the price was The Lion King. I was just amazed by the whole costume, sets, and the whole "Circle of Life" sequence.

Depends on what you want for your $100.

Some people judge Broadway "by the yard" like a bolt of fabric. In other words, how much physically are they getting for their money (or what is the "MOST" show for the money, how large is the cast, etc.). If it's all about spectacle for you, then I would say "Wicked" or "The Lion King."

If you judge a Broadway show by impact (aka emotional punch or gratification), then try "Pillowman" or "The Light in the Piazza."

randomly, i would say

drs for the ensemble performances of the original leads--butz, lithgow, scott, jbara, gleason

wiw and piazza for giving musicals back to adults

poto for overall theatricality and stage magic
