Posted: 4/14/06 at 3:19pmOh, do check out "Silk Stockings" movie, MasterLcZ, it is probably the exception, as most of Porters songs survived. Hollywood possibly guessed that there wouldn't be too many Porter scores following up so any Porter song would be worth preserving. Granted: a few songs were cut as well, but only a few this time.

Grease. I love Freddy My Love, Those Magic Changes, and Mooning. Granted I know that some were played as background music, but they are so good they should have been featured (Rock n Roll Party Queen, It's Raining on Prom Night).
I was beyond disappointed with Phantom. Maybe if the two leads were trained singers like they were supposed to be, it would have been good.

Posted: 4/16/06 at 8:10pm"The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas". Many songs were eliminated and replaced by songs written by Dolly Parton. They should have kept the original score, especially "The Bus From Amarillo". They turned the film into "Smokey and the Bandit Go To The Whorehouse".

Oh god I love the 'How To Succeed' Movie.
But it is a shame they cut good numbers (paris original being my favs) but especially Coffee Break. In the movie, it sets it up, they say "coffee break!" and then... Cut! I think they actually filmed the number aswell.. just didnt keep it in.
