OK I'm taking my girlfriend to a broadway show at the end of August for her birthday and I've narrowed it down to 3.
Avenue Q, Legally Blonde, and Hairspray.
Now, she loves the movie Legally Blonde, but also loves dancing (Hairspray). I, myself, know absolutely nothing about any of these musicals and would love your input. I also would not like to be in agony while I'm at this show, which I have a feeling Hairspray would do to me. Also, I heard Avenue Q was very good.
So please if anyone has any input on this, please HELP ME!!!
Thanks!!!
Q or Hairspray.
I haven't seen Hairspray yet, but I'd say Legally Blonde. You said she loves the movie. And there's dancing in it as well.
You'd probably enjoy Q more, but I don't know about her. And it may be a tad awkward... the sexual stuff.
I'd say LEGALLY BLONDE. It's original cast, and she loves the movie.
But HAIRSPRAY is fabulous as well.

Since this is for HER birthday, take her to Legally Blonde.

Ok, looks like Legally Blonde is the winner

Ok, I'm sorry that I am kind of clueless about all of this but I have one more question. I went on ticketmaster to get tickets for Legally Blonde and they were $120 each for first level orchestra. I have never been to a musical before and don't know if closer is better or not.
Also, is $120 per ticket really what these tix cost?
So what I am asking is closer better and if so, is $120 a good price for first level seating?
Thanks
$120 is the ticket price for orchestra level seating. I'd say towards the middle...or possibly look at front mezzanine seating. If you're too close at the Palace you miss some of the dog entrances because the stage is so high.

Although the choice seems to been have made, I'll put in my vote for Avenue Q!

With the Palace:
Don't go for the expensive Orchestra, go for either the back Mezzanine, or the front row of the balcony, which is i believe $40
Even though you already made your decision in... 12 minutes, I say Avenue Q

They're all really great shows.
Hairspray was great! You should also consider Wicked.
Although tickets for the balcony are only about 40 dollars, when I sat up there, I hated it. It was way to high for me and I felt like I was going to fall off the edge.

Americanboy- Legally Blonde no longer has the original cast.
The dancing in Hairspray isn't actually THAT good. I would say that the dancing in Legally Blonde is better.
Debbie1313, is your period key broken?
Yeah, I guess it isn't the complete OBC... but it's close!

Has the OBC already been split up? It's only been running a few months. Previews started early April.. that's way odd.
