I am going to be in the city this weekend and am interested in seeing either "August" or "Passing Strange" I have heard great things about both shows but can't decide. Any help you be greatly appreciated
wow. that's a tough decision. my two favorite new broadway shows.
I say Passing Strange

WoW! That's like asking a parent who their favorite child is! Okay, let me think for a moment ... I'd have to go with AUGUST. As much as I *adore* the folks at the Belasco (and they know who they are!), you NEED to see AUGUST: Osage County. Absolutely. Without question, the most beautifully gut-wrenching theatrical experience. Ever. Enjoy it, lay claim to 'having seen it' before it takes 'the big one' on June 15.
Wow, what a tough choice. Both are excellent, and must-sees. I agree with LimelightMike, but I'll throw in a vote for Passing Strange, because it could certainly use the business more than August. And it's such an unforgettable theatrical experience.
But if there is ANY way you could fit in 2 shows (go for a double feature on Saturday), then try to make it to both. You won't regret it.
AUGUST!!! It's brilliant! I have never seen a show that's 3 and a half hours more than once, but I've seen it 3 times. And I will see it more. I just think it's a captivating piece-brilliantly acted and written.
