If a person wants to second act, as TheaterBaby already said, they need to be aware of which shows check ticket stubs after intermission? I don't think Thoroughly Modern Millie does. Same goes for the Producers and 42nd Street. Than again, I've never left the theater during an intermission for any show, so I'm not quite sure.

Millie dosen't check, but then the entire 3rd floor is nothing but Marquis Theatre. I was just wondering if the elevators and/or escalators stop at the 3rd floor during intermission and if anybody checks there?

I've "second acted" many times and have never encountered a theater that checks stubs after intermission.
I don't think any theatres check.
TheaterBaby said that Gypsy checks, so obviously some do.
Here's a thought - buy a ticket. Then you won't have to worry about anyone checking it.
Well, there's one option. Of course that would be my first choice. But one doesnt always have money to buy a ticket. So, If one happens to want to see half of a show for free, he would naturally find out the circumstances under which he could do so, which is why he started this post. Thanks for answering, though!
I would think it's mostly the high-profiled shows that check. I know for Gypsy they check every person's ticket (at aleast they have whenever I've been there), they probably do the same for Nine.
I have a feeling that Urinetown and Rent wouldn't check.
But you know what, I would never take the risk. It's not like they would arrest you, but still.
Here's another option. If you want to second act a show that you have already seen, bring the ticket stub from the last time you saw it. I bet they wouldn't notice.
"Which shows check ticket stubs after Intermission?"
All of them, now that you've asked!
42nd Street has always checked. You have to have a ticket stub to prove you were inside or they won't let you in. Same with Cabaret and Nine.

I don't know about going to the ground floor, but you can go up to your room during intermission at Millie. The ladies sitting next to me did that to get a sweater or change shoes or something and they said that nobody checked their tickets.

Chicago checks. They didn't always used to -- back when it was at the Shubert... now they do. I clearly held a conversation with this one usher while standing IN the theatre. I walked out to the lobby and not even 5 minutes after having said conversation with him, he asked to check my ticket.
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
I know for a fact that Urinetown doesn't check.
Well, there's good news. I don't think the low profile shows will check. Rent and Urinetown, etc. Does Hairspray check? Amneris- do you know?
