Since their objective has little to do with the hearing world, they shouldn't worry about you or I might think is cool for sign language. Real theater for the deaf had little to do with concepts on how to use sign language.
I remember reading an article about SA, saying that it wasn't ideal for the hearing impaired, as too much was going on, and it was difficult for a hearing impaired person to know where to focus.
I doubt that their goal is a Broadway audience.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
