Which theatre has the cleanest bathrooms?
#0Which theater in New York has the cleanest bathrooms?
Posted: 11/8/03 at 6:33pmThe ones at the Marquis, which are actually in the Marriott hotel, are sparkling. Any others worth mentioning?

Posted: 11/8/03 at 6:36pmI don't think I've ever used a bathroom in a NY theater. the lines are too long and I'm too impatient to wait.

Posted: 11/8/03 at 6:43pmThe lines are Studio 54 are ridiculous. They stretched all the way from the 2nd to 1st floor.

The Richard Rodgers only has ONE women's room for the whole theater! Not only that, it's on the lowest level of the theater, so to get there before the lines at intermission from the mezzanine is basically impossible.
For a theater as gorgeous as The New Amsterdam, I thought their bathrooms fell pretty far behind the rest of the place. Same with The Palace. The Nederlander bathroom's run pretty nicely, which is funny because the rest of the building is kinda shabby. Oh well.

I can't believe I'm actually contributing to this thread.... I'd have to say Marquis and Shubert. The beauty of the Marquis though is if there's a long line, you can always just go up to the lounge on the 8th floor.
Can't tell you how many times I ran over to the Marquis at intermission of Chicago! hahha

Posted: 11/8/03 at 9:53pmI would have to say that when it's open, the Minskoff Theater has the cleanest bathrooms I've seen in a long time.

I'd have to say the Marquis Theatre. I was a little frightened of the man they had there stationed to pump the soap and give you towels, however. It was uncomfortable, Lol. And I'm praying to God that other people have seen this person and it wasnt' some random stranger who enjoyed doing that for people.
I went to the Gershwin's bathroom last night and the faucet was running when I came in. The sink faucets are really confusing. You have to twist them all different ways to turn them off. I guess the person before me gave up and left it running. I was clever enough to turn it off, however.

Posted: 11/10/03 at 10:14amThe Minskoff & the Gershwin -- note both are Nederlander theatres. After Shubert & Jujamcyn fired all their bathroom matrons, the cleanliness level of their restrooms, pardon the expression, really tanked. Nederlander still has the most wonderful matrons. If you ever want to have an interesting conversation about the theatre, stike up a conversation with one of these ladies. They're usually a font of great stories about the theatre.

I agree, the Ford Center. Sort of like The Kennedy Center, the Early Years.
The new ones at the Imperial are swell, though for the current attraction, predictably, the line at the men's room snakes down almost to 45th street.

I say run over to the Marriott (express elevator to the 8th floor lobby) and use their toilets they are large, always clean, and never crowded. (Of course, if everyone starts doing this they are going to quickly get very crowded.)

Hope you are kidding about those Henry Miller bathrooms, ShbrtAlley! They are SCARY.
The renovated Biltmore may have the greatest number of bathrooms to patrons ratio of any Broadway theatre.
