Who Does Kelli O'Hara Think She Is?

Does anyone know her background? I know she was in Sweet Smell but I don't know anything else. I think she she went to NYU. She seems relatively new to the business.

Anyone?

She's been around for a while -- she was in FOLLIES a few years back, I don't think she's just breaking into the biz....

She was in the national tour of J&H. I think she's from the south. I don't think she went to NYU. I remember reading her bio and remember it was a big time music school but I can't remember.

she was in dracula, jekyll and hyde(shes actually in the ensemble of the taped musical version with david hasselhoff. shes amazing. i thought she was known. thats crazy. i mean at least after dracula. that show may have been a flop but her performance was amazing(by the way one of my fav. shows! hehe).

I love the title of this thread!

My friend who went to OCU said she was in a production of "Carnival" and was an amazing Lily.

I didn't know she was an opera singer? Is Kristin, too? They both studied opera?

Yes, Oklahoma City U. She studied voice with Florence Birdwell who was the voice teacher for Chenoweth. Kelli spent several summers working in the ensemble at Music Theatre of Wichita. MTW is in my opinion, one of the best regional musical theatres in the country. Wonderful training ground for young performers.
Kelli returned to MTW in the summer of 2001, this time as one of the equity guest stars. She played Magnolia in SHOW BOAT. She's a nice gal. Beautiful and very talented. If that musical/ opera? about GRACE KELLY makes it stateside. Kelli would be an ideal Grace. Again, just my opinion.

YAY for OCU. I'm going there as a music theatre major in the fall. The program is amazing. As a music theatre major, your repertoire ends up being about half classical and half theatre. It's an amazing, vocal-heavy training program.

Is Kelli a dancer? Cause MTW only hires dancers from OCU. Very seldom will they hire just vocalists. I know OCU people hired by MTW and they are amazing dancers who can sing.

I never thought she was a dancer. And since vocal performance people at OCU don't take dance classes, I wonder where she learned.

kristin an opera singer. do you even have to ask that question? I mean have you heard the girl hahah. I jsut find it funny that ur avatar is wicked...and you know nothing about kristin chenoweth...when it's more than obvious that she has studied opera. Id say opera was her "fortay".

And yes kelli studied opera as well.

In fact of heard that they bopth studied with the same vocal teacher for some time...but don't quote me on that because I'm not sure if uit's a 100% true.

I believe Kristin Chenoweth got her undergraduate degree in Musical Theatre and her Masters in Opera. I don't know if Kelli O'Hara did the same thing or not. I think she majored in Musical Theatre but I could be wrong. A lot of schools require that you learn some classical repetoire and technique even if you're majoring in musical theatre. It think that's a really good thing.

I though she was wonderful in SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS. Her subtle performance and magnificent voice were a highlight for me.

I saw her in the tour of Jekyll and Hyde as Emma. It's neat to see performers you remember from a tour go on to Broadway.
