I am trying to write a paper about how unknown the artists who create the artwork for Broadway shows and how they go without credit, and I am having trouble finding information on the people who created the artwork for Broadway shows past and present.
(proves my point right? or am I just not using the correct vocabulary to look them up)
If anyone has any information on the people who created the wonderful Playbill covers and logos that we love to look it please respond here!
The artwork is usually created by the marketing company and the lead producers have the final say as to the artwork that is to be used for various things including the playbill cover. The marketing companies do publicize who created the artwork, but the artist can add it to their book of work

do you happen to know where I can find that information?
I don't know where you can find that. I only know that from having to go to a Broadway marketing firm with a graphic design class and got to talk to a designer

That sounds like an awesome experience! I hope my graphic design career takes me in that direction. Thanks for you help!
When I was working toward a graphic design degree years ago, I wanted nothing more than to work for Dewynters. As time went on, I wanted less and less to do with design and now work in advertising (not in a creative capacity). But take a look at Playbill Vault and check out the marketing and advertising production credits page for various shows -- you can find out who the designers/PR firms are.
Example: here's the current Les Miz revival. https://www.playbillvault.com/Show/Detail/Cast/14020/Les-Misrables-at-Imperial-Theatre#credits
