I would quote another post on here, but BWW isn’t letting me do so. Again, even though I’ve disabled my ad blocker. If you’re not on instagram, the Broadway Understudies twitter account has been doing a great job of updating (also, sorry this isn’t clickable. That isn’t working either!) And for those not on instagram: https://twitter.com/understudies/status/1475603496577777665

I thought about this as well. My first inclination is that the shows that are having to cancel quite often are mostly shows with a large cast/ensemble? That may be a wrong assumption on my part but that’s

Last night's Stars in the House was very informative about testing protocols, closures, etc on Broadway. It's 2.5 hours, but if you can spare the time, at least watch in segments.

The problem is even if YOUR intentions are good, by forming something resembling a crowd, you're potentially becoming part of the problem. You can't tell everyone walking by that there isn't really a stage door anymore.

Luminaire2 said: "However, I could see producers looking at the cost of cancellations and seeing risky behaviours as a huge detriment to the production, which could result in a show closing for good due to already shaky financials. It’s a tumultuous time, and I think they may be wanting to make decisions that protect the integrity of the show and jobs. It’s not an easy time to manage this."
I vaguely remember hearing that the kids in Annie weren't allowed to play with the Broadway Softball League because they didn't want them to get hurt. There are other clauses in other industries about risky behavior (specifically am remembering how Jeff Kent lied that he slipped and fell while washing his car, when he was riding a motorcycle, in violation of his contract) — so I'm with you there. I've been surprised at how many actors' instagram stories have been filled with parties and other types of gatherings I'm not even comfortable doing myself, and I'm boosted and work from home.
