The only nominated show I saw was Curtains, so I am biased towards Curtains. I am seeing Mary Poppins on Sunday and SA in August. So I'll be happy if one of the three wins. But I will be rooting for Curtains.
P.S. I might see GG sometime over the summer also.

I really want Grey Gardens to take it, but I think they are going to give it to Spring Awakening.

As long as it's not the crap called MARY POPPINS.

I feel like MARY POPPINS might make a surprise attack. Perhaps it's commercial longevity. Perhaps the fact that it does show a lot of promise. Who knows?
I actually don't want ANY of the 4 to win, though. I don't think any of the 4 are fully deserving. But, I'd have to go with wanting either GG or SA, though I wouldn't be disappointed, just shocked, if MP won.

Munkus, it thrills me that you don't think SA is a masterpiece, either.
I enjoyed it thoroughly, don't get me wrong. But it is so horribly flawed. Socially speaking, the ignorance regarding the "almost rape" truly disturbs me. While the book is a brutally murdered and pieced together version of Wedekind's original play. The direction is over the top and, at most times, confused and misguided. There are so many concepts going on that it seems like one of those very good student directed college pieces that show so much promise. The choreography? Well, it resembles Helen Keller on speed.
I honestly suspect MARY POPPINS stands a strong chance at winning, as I said earlier.
And, I suppose, if I must choose, I'd like to see GREY GARDENS take it.

Virtually, any would be fine with me. I've only seen two of the nominated (SPRING AWAKENING and CURTAINS), but I'd be fine with either winning. Nothing really jumps.

Want: Anything BUT Spring Awakening
Will: Spring Awakening.
I think of all 4 nominees, Spring Awakening will be the hardest to tour. With all its rave reviews, it still can't do sell-out business; and I doubt that will change even if it does take home the prize. It is clearly not everyone's cup of tea, and there are just as many people who don't like it as those who do. In my personal circle of theatre friends, SA is the one show of all the nominees that most people did not like, and the one show that more people I know walked out at intermission than any of the other nominees.

Want: Spring Awakening
Will: Probably Spring Awakening
But, I'm always happy for any show that wins.

"Who" do I want to win Best Musical?
Angela Lansbury.
"What" do I want to win Best Musical?
Grey Gardens.
"What" do I think will win Best Musical?
Either Spring Awakening or Grey Gardens. It's a very close race, and a lot of it will be determined by the supporters of Curtains and Mary Poppins, as they will diffuse voting for the other two.

Why do people on here seem to have orgasms when Munk agrees with them? It's like they're excited that they're not going to get beat up by him for a day. Rejoice! But wear your helmets tomorrow!

I want Spring Awakening to win, but I would totally be fine with Grey Gardens. I LOVE that show. I would also be cool with Curtains, it seems to be a decent show with honest intentions.
However, I will hate it and further lose faith in the Tonys if Mary Poppins takes the crown. Especially considering that we have such brilliant pieces of theatre this season (SA / GG). I saw all three and Mary Poppins dosen't deserve to feed GG's cats or give SA a hand job. SA felicitates a powerful gut reaction about repression, sexuality, love and friendship. GG is an expertly crafted beautiful show that stirs a deep complex emotions about the human condition. Mary Poppins is a crowd pleasing mess. It couldn't pace a turtle race and couldn't develope a theme if its life dependid on it. Unfortunatly, it dosen't. I really do not want it to win much of anything come Tony night.

Well I havent gotten to see any of the shows nominated, sadly!
I'd really like to see Curtains win, but I'd be happy with GG taking it home.
I agree with most of you all, SA will most likely take it. It's this seasons favorite. Ofcourse, every year there are always surprises. We'll just have to wait and see!!!

I desperately want GREY GARDENS.
But SPRING AWAKENING will win (or Mary Poppins), and I'll be fine with either.
Just NOT CURTAINS!
