I picked it up after the show and wasn't so satisfied. First of all, $25!!! (but mommy was paying!) And all of the dialogue just bothered me. I really wanted the music and not all of that talking. I loved the show, but i dont want to hear it everytime i want to listen to the songs. I usually skip to the second half of the cd and then listen. It's just stupid to me to have that much dialogue on it!
am i the only one who is bothered by this?

I can always do without the dialogue (especially when most has been cut) but I love the CD.
It is a great CD.

cant wait to (hopefully) get it this weekend with christmas money.
is there a lot of cursing in the dialogue, though?

No, not a lot of cursing. I think the only cursing happens on one track - granted, the track is over 10 mins long, but still.
I love this recording. I got it last week, and havent taken it out of my CD player yet. Playing right now, as a matter of fact.
i bought it quite some time ago and i still havent listened to it...i will soon i promise!
You can buy the CD new, on Amazon.com for $14.00
I love the music and dont mind the dialogue, in fact, I kind of like it.

I like the Jersey Boys CR very much, and actually wish there was more dialogue.
There are lots of funny and memoriable lines in the show that would add to my pleasure in listening to the CR which I do frequently.
I agree $25 for the CD at the theater is high.....$20 would be a more reasonable price but I believe the show's producer has no control over what they charge for the CD.

Just buy the best of the Four Seasons if you don't want dialogue. This is a cast recording, and if I recall correctly, most of the songs were interrupted with dialogue. I downloaded it from music match for something like $11.00.
love the cast recording, can't wait to see the show.

id like to see the show, too, but for now the cd will suffice. i was supposed to get it today, but i had church (im not jewish, though- im seventh day adventist), and couldnt, so i get it monday! yes!!
I bought it today, when I saw the show. it's good, but it's not $25 worth of good. However I can't complain because it was given to me as an early birthday present, because my birthday is next week.

The show is AMAZING!!! You should all see it once and then again in my opinion. The CD is not worth $25 in my opinion... it can't be much more than an hour long. It is a good CD, just overpriced.
Thanks for the AMAZON TIP. I have to own the CD. I will buy it as soon as I get a chance. The cast are so talented.
Did anyone catch the writers on Theater Talk this weekend.
It was a lot of fun.
I wish Jersey Boys years of success.
Especially the sweet cast. John L. Young is about as sweet as sugar.
It was absolutely worth the $15 I paid for it @ Best Buy. And in terms of the dialogue, it didn't bother me too much, and for this show it works since they really are cramming like 40 years of material and events into like 2 hours...
I wish them luck, the show is fantastic.
CDs are NEVER worth buying at the theater!!! Don't we know this yet? Those CDs are tourist traps -- the ONLY time it's worth it to buy cds at the theater is if they get released there before anywhere else.
I think Jersey Boys is currently the best show on Broadway! I've never, ever had so much fun in the theater!
The cast CD is fabulous! I can't believe how talented these guys are! It was produced by original Four Seasons member Bob Gaudio (He's a genius!). I was so excited for the CD that I ordered it in advance from Amazon before I even saw the show!
Amazon.com currently has the CD available for $13.49.

i also got my cd at amazon, they might have used copies too. i'd never spend 25 on a cd or a show t-shirt.
Yeah... I think I bought my copy for something like $17... and it was worth it. I don't shell out over $18 for a single disc. You hit $25 and you're talking about double-disc land. Or at least some bonus material on it.
I agree with you, jasonf... The cast CDs available at the theaters are always jacked up at least $5, if not more. Since you can't get much in the way of substantial souveniers at the theater anymore for under $30, I buy the CD elsewhere so I can spend my cash on other stuff that would be harder to get elsewhere (posters, clothing, etc).

i always have loved just how much the actual souvenier stand in theaters will charge for the cd of the show. When i saw the rent tour i was laughing out loud at the fact that the obcr was more than my ticket (student rush) was, at $40 the girl in front of me heard this, turned around and goes "well in the broadway lobby its $60)... and i thought to myself i got it off amazon, with free shipping for 22

I can understand how some people will pay extra for the convenience of having the CD immediately. They can play it on the way home, no need to look for it in a store or wait for mail order. So $20 for a CD that's $15 at Tower is reasonable. But $25 seems a rip off. The mark-up must be well over 200%
