"I am from NorCal, and I pretty much hate LA. Its just not a very enjoyable place. Especially since there is the lack of (and appreciation of) theater."
You are either closed-minded or woefully uneducated on thr theater scene in LA.

Not I. I love my City and my State.
If you want to see shows on Broadway. Go. Save if you must, make it a special trip. It can be done.
For those who bemoan the lack of culture in L.A. I ask: Do you support the culture that IS in Los Angeles? The arts don't thrive unless the citizens support them. The Arts in New York just didn't "happen" a lot of people work hard to keep it alive and well.
If we want the same here, step up to the plate and get it done. Make sure the city council knows where you want your tax dollars placed. Don't know you council rep? Find out.
Don't put your money into mulit-million dollar films every week. Instead use that cash towards seeing a great equtiy-waiver production with actors working hard to keep theatre alive.
Yeah it takes a little more effort. But all things that have value take extra effort. L.A has a lot to offer.
what an absolutely ridiculous thread......
