A building block, maybe
This thread is an insult to...everything.
Producers and directors and writers across the country have projects needing a talented comedic actor. Come on people, think. THINK!!!

There is never a "next" anyone. Each one is a first and only.
There will NEVER be another Robin Williams. NO ONE can...no one will ever approach the mad genius that was Mr. Williams. The end.

All right. Here is my list of three supert-talented performers who crack me up. Each definitely has the potential to make a huge mark, I mean huge, in comedy similar to Robin Williams. They are: Elon Gold, Dean Edwards, and Jay Pharoah. This is my opinion. Others have a different opinion. Of the three, Dean Edwards puts me on the floor every time I see him. I don't exactly know the level of their acting skills. But I hope we will see soon.

Two of the 3 you named are already in their mid 40's. By his mid 40's, Williams had already created the iconic character Mork, and had at least 30 major film credits to his name including Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin, Dead Poets Society, Fisher King and Good Morning, Vietnam, had won 3 Golden Globes and was a 3 time Academy Award nominee (even before his win for GWH). He was also already regarded in comedy circles as a GOD.
Is there someone close to you, someone whose opinion you trust who can help you see how utterly ridiculous this whole thread is?

Dear Fishy:
The history of show business is replete with perfomers who finally made it very big beginning from middle age. No one should denigrate or undermine a performers potential because of age. It is not only disrepectful, but discriminates. It is not a good reflection upon you. Good luck to Elon Gold, Dean Edwards. Hope they don't run into people like you in life. My bet is that at least two of the three will get offers for a meaty film role in the near future.
Isn't this more of a Dalai Lama situation, where the next Robin Williams shouldn't be a middle aged entertainer that no one has heard of yet, but an actual unknown who has yet to do his or her first open mic?
"My bet is that at least two of the three will get offers for a meaty film role in the near future."
So what you're saying is, a guy like Dean Edwards, who has been working in comedy for almost 25 years and whose career peaked 12 years ago as a featured player on SNL for 2 seasons (was never invited to become a regular "cast member") and whose last 5 credits since 2010 were "voices" in "shorts" will be offered a starring or co-starring role in a major studio motion picture even though you yourself admitted you had no idea if he could even act. Ya know, that happens every day so I'm sure you're right. I'm sure that's going to happen and 3 or 4 years from now, after his second consecutive Oscar nomination and first win, we'll both be back here laughing about the fact that he really was the next Robin Williams and you were the only one smart enough to see it. I can't wait for that conversation.
Weren't you the same person who 3 1/2 years ago proclaimed someone named Amanda Sears as "The Next Carol Burnett" based on a few YouTube videos she did in 2007 and got laughed off the board at that time? Maybe correctly identifying who has talent and potential is just not your thing.

Why does there have to be another Robin Williams? I would like the OP to explain...

Bold is the new douche.
I think Robin Williams was the next Sid Caesar, if we have to play this game.

Sid Caesar is Sid Caesar. Robin Williams is Robin Williams. It's that simple.
Headband has to use bold type since he made such a big statement about never ever ever posting here again he needs to let everyone know he's still posting here.

Plus he needed to be the only "centrist" to side with racism in the Ferguson thread. He will not be IGNORED, Dan.
