I'll be there. Right Mezz Row A.
I'm actually seeing the people in your avatar but I hope to see their second performance on Wednesday night.

I was there! It was literally one of the best nights of theatre I have had since the final performance of the original Tribe on Sunday.
There was so much electricity in the theater before the show, it was like buzzing with excitement you would normally sense for the first performance of an original cast. Like I said, I have never seen anything like it.
Diana is just amazing as Sheila. She has the chops as well as the sweetness and innocence that make Shiela so lovable. Your heart literally breaks when Berger tears the shirt she bought for him. I could hear many people in the audience crying during that part.
Ace brings a real rocker's edge to Berger. He called my friend's aunt "Mom," so that was amazing.
The rest of the tribe is also amazing. The audience, of course, was eating out of the palm of the cast's hand before they even came onstage. From the opening notes of Aquarius til the final notes of the onstage dance party, this cast was clearly filled with love for each other and the audience and the material that you can tell this isn't about a job for them, this is something much deeper and more important. Although nothing can ever replace the original cast, this new cast truly made HAIR their own.
I'm sure all the obnoxious fangurls who were hooting and hollering at yesterday's matinee will be there in full force. There's one thing to show your appreciation, another to be ridiculously over the top.
Bad taste in my mouth after sunday. I'm interested but think I need to wait a while.
Don't forget the over-the-top praise that's sure come to come Annaleigh Ashford's way, Namo.
She seems to have developed a particularly terrifying fan base.

...and undeservedly so.
I'll go in the middle of the week when I'm assured a "regular" experience.
Was there any need for that? At all? Not like there ever is, but there's no reason for this thread to turn into what you're trying to instigate, Namo.

Instigate? I'm not instigating anything. This is EXACTLY what you're going to be reading.
I'm going to see the new tribe March 31! Can't wait!
It's almost like Namo used the hippy truck time machine travelling to tonight and back again!
I'll be there.

FindingNamo, nice try but it's actually going to go a little something like this:
"I was in tears as I walked into the theatre, it was only two days ago when I last sobbed, watching the OBC perform Hair in an untouchable, epic way. Seeing Kyle Riabko's name where Gavin's used to be in the Playbill brought almost primative sobs that I tried unsuccessfully to choke back. I mean, I'm sure he'll be ok as Claude but nothing (at Hair or in life) will ever be the same now that the OBC has died, er, I mean gone to London.
Diana Degarmo was passable as Sheila. I mean, she can sing but seeing her with black hair just shows she's not as committed to the role as she should be. Caissie's Sheila was blonde. Odd that Diana didn't have the same professionalism and chose not to copy Caissie but oh well, I'm sure she'll grow into the role.
I left the show at intermission. The realization that Will Swenson will never play Berger again at the Al Hirschfeld (and by never I mean a whole six months) sent me into such a tizzy that I headed to the closest hospital and requested sedation.
It's a sad, sad day, but I'm sure the new cast will be good, eventually. Anyway, if you'll excuse me, the reality has hit me again and I need to go carve Bryce Ryness's name into my arm."

...seriously? At least Namo's response was clever.

I liked it NPH. Although I still think even in a downbeat things-will-never-be-the-same review like that, we will see the phrase 'this cast really made it their own.'
rofl. NPH hit the nail on the head of how audience reviews are gonna start pouring out.

And to think, people thought I was trying to be funny. If anybody would like me to pick their lottery numbers or horses for them, just send me a PM.
Diana has no problem going blonde. I believe her not being blonde for this was a character choice
