Posted: 6/22/14 at 8:06pmI've always thought that it could be a great role for Andy Karl but I doubt it'll happen.

The only people who have publicly announced they are playing roles is Patrick Page - who announce at a cabaret gig he was doing the show . . . and Erik Liberman has announced his casting on his web page . . . http://www.erikliberman.org/bio.html . . .
otherwise, I don't know who played PHOEBUS at on the Workshop, and they have not announced any public casting for California or New Jersey at this point - as the casting is not finalized yet (offers maybe out, but not accepted).

Really happy to hear there is going to be an onstage choir. One of the best parts of the score as it is in the movie is the powerful choral accompaniment on certain songs.
eatlasagna, are you allowed to tell us how big it is?

Mr. Nowack... I believe the choir is going to be about 32 people... or they have 32 people total... I know that there's going to be about 3 different sets choirs (out of the 32 people) so that no one is doing all 8 performances a week... did that make sense?

Eatlasagna -- congrats!
Hmm, I wonder how much people out of the 32 will perform each night?
Were you hired for La Jolla or Paper Mill? Please, do keep us updated. :)

eatlasagna- I think I remember hearing that rehearsals would start in August. I wish you the best of luck!
Nateben2- Is 32 considered to be on the large side for a musical? I know that this isn't really getting developed for Broadway, but if they decided to bring it over, they'd be spending around $60,000 a week for the chorus alone, correct?

Nope - the choir would not be on a standard production contract.
The would most likely be classified as an extra - although who knows what DTG would negotiate . . .there have been shows with choirs like this before . . . if they did it as extra, then most likely the AEA salaries would put the show at around $70-80,000 total a week.
