I don't know if this remake is actually going ahead, but who would you cast if it was up to you?
Nellie: Kristen Wiig
Emile: Richard Gere (lol)
Joe: Probably would/will be Matthew Morrison, although he wouldn't be my first choice
Bloody Mary: Nathan Lane
Luther: Robin Williams

Nellie ~ Mitzi Gaynor
Emile DeBecque ~ Rosanno Brazzi (I know, I know he can't sing but he *looks* the part. Maybe they can get an opera singer like Giorgio Tozzi to dub him)
Bloody Mary ~ Juanita Hall (she was so good in the original show she should be considered for the film)
John Kerr ~ Lt. Joe Cable (okay, okay he can't sing either...but he fits the part, they can just dub him too)
Liat ~ France Nuyen (she can just stand there and LOOK GOOD)
Luther Billis ~ Ray Walston (he'll bring in the laughs the role requires).
