I'm excited to see who is going to plop down $122.00 ($252.00 premium) to these greedy producers in this collapsed economy, especially after the extended Central Park run allowed so many people to see this for free.

Me. Well, probably not full price...but I'll go. AND I already saw it in the park. Loved it.

What makes the producers greedy? Because they are charging the same tix price that all other new shows bumped up to?

wow. the prices for b'way shows are beyond ridiculous. is it any wonder why shows are closing left and right? who in their right mind in the middle of this economic recession is going to shell out $122 for a theater ticket? going to the theater is a luxury.
you either make a great living to be able to afford it or are only able to see a show through discounts, student rush(es), etc.

Not that you can believe their press release, but in it, they state that they're beginning previews 3 days earlier due to "demand for tickets."

So, perhaps people are excited about it?

the demand must be from tourists who haven't seen the show in it's free delacorte performances. the show got great word of mouth, not to mention some solid reviews. i just can't imagine someone who got to see this for free in the park would pay full price to go see it again. unless of course if money was no object.
