Winston, it isn't just The View that has Broadway performances. All shows based in NYC have had performances over the years, including GMA, Today, CBS Morning, Regis and Kelly (KathieLee), Rosie, etc. It's nothing new. Publicists have been doing this for a long time. When Rosie had her own show, she had many Broadway guests as well as shows performing because she loves theatre. It's as simple as that, but she isn't the only one. It's happened, as I said, for years on all New York based nationally televised shows.

But all those other shows - even the Today Show, seem to make Broadway just another iten on a checklist (ie musician in the streets, check; athlete in town, check; movie star on location or in for premiere, check, Broadway show, check). But with Rosie, for the first time, it almost seemed like a Broadway show that made a point of including all the other items on the list. That's what made the show leap from the screen for me the first time I caught it.
