Why aren't they big stars !!!

Shoshana Bean !!! Kerry Butler !!! Stephanie J Block !!!! I'm watching old performances of theirs and wondering why aren't they more successful . They have some of the best voices I've heard on broadway . Why can't they get lead roles !!

I know Shoshana has said that she doesn't necessarily feel the need to do theater unless the role is right, and that she prefers to peruse her recording career.

" she's been doing a lot of things with Todrick Hall lately but I'm dying to see her in a lead broadway role

Kerry Butler was also just on Broadway in DISASTER (a total flop but still). Shoshana Bean was in BEACHES not long ago and was also recently in a regional production of FUNNY GIRL.

Seriously, did you even look into their recent credits before you made this post??

You want them on Broadway or to be big stars?  They ate not interchangeable.

Big stars on Broadway: Bette Midler, Josh Groban, Glenn Close, David Hyde Pierce.

Bean, Block, and Butler are only big to us. Every season, we get a big star or two on Broadway. But the reality remains that today, in 2017, you don't become a big star by performing on Broadway. I wish more people were familiar with the talent of many performers on broadway, but for a variety of reasons, this is where they are. Bean is a prime example of someone who seems to love where they are and not care about being a big name star. She is passionate about the music she makes and that seems to be a big priority in her life.
