The show curtain, I find exciting. I like to get into the theatre and I'll look at my playbill and then I'll stare at the stage and wonder what scenic excitement is behind it.

It just gets me horny for the show, then the overture starts... then the lighting plays into the cutain.

You could not have put it better.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

Nothin better than a theatrical orgasm.

I can think of at least one thing better than a theatrical orgasm.

I would be much more interested in discussions about the opening number or opening scene than the "show curtain," but that would require a discussion about substance and meaning.

I also enjoy a good visual, yet I rarely (if ever) remember a "show curtain." And I'm sure the authors (and designer) prefer it that way.

What DOES obsess me, however, is at exactly what point during an overture, the special lights aimed at the curtain come up, signaling the audience to shift from the worlds they came in from to the world of the show. These light, called "curtain warmers," are magical to me, whether they are trained on a "show curtain" or a "house curtain."
