I never knew. Was it making room for something else? Losing money? Suffering without sutton? Thanks
i'm still trying to figure out how it stayed open as long as it did!

The show ran for two years on Sutton alone. When she left, nobody was interested anymore, although I'm told Susan Egan was quite good as Millie.
I love Ms. Egan.
I don't know how much of Sutton's leaving had to do with the show closing. She wasnt a big enough "name" for tourists or other people outside of the theater community.
hey well i saw susan egan as millie and she was quite good, i enjoyed her lol but she was no SUTTON and i do believe that when sutton leeft ticket sales went down, or everyone had already seen it lol but no one will ever replace sutton
I concur, Wickedforlife. I remember seeing the show very shortly after it opened in 2002 and saying to myself, "Without her, this show never would have made it this far."

i saw them both and they were both very good but sutton was just a little bit better. (im sure years of practice helped!)
its a very big theater to fill after that much time has past and the buzz has died.
I saw Millie twice, once with Susan and once with Sutton and both did an amazing job. Susan was great, but I dont think her name is as well known as Sutton. So sad it closed. It was a great show.
