"Non-passing?" Politely disagreeing, I think he could "pass" for almost anything he wants (although I wouldn't recommend blackface or yellowface); what is it about him that makes you think he can only look/play Puerto Rican?

Because why not? He's someone who creates his work both to stand alone and for himself to interpret it- much like Noel Coward, Charles Busch, Woody Allen and others.

Because he wants to? He wrote it, if he wants to star in it, that's his decision. He's a better fit for Usnavi than he is for Hamilton, but he's still wonderful and should continue to do whatever he pleases.

What I'm saying is that's how casting has been for a long time now on Broadway. I did not intend to say that LMM can only play Puerto Rican roles. Not at all. He can play latin roles, Jew roles, but I'm not talking about me. I can see him in different roles but the way Broadway has been casting, it doesn't seem like him. It's not me that's pigeonholing him. It's the industry. That's what he talks about in the video if you actually watched it. Latino actors like LMM or John Leguizamo are typecast in these type roles. That's why he's creating them. I want there to be more roles that people can see him in. You misunderstood completely what I said.
Like him as Bobby. Talking specifically about his look, I don't see why he couldn't be Bobby in Company (not referring to vocal or acting needs). I'm referring to how Broadway has cast these shows. They cast Bobby and yes Raúl is Latino. But he could pass for white. It doesn't seem like they would cast them (not me casting him).

Speaking of John Leguizamo, that's also why the only way he's been able to be on Broadway so many times was because he wrote and starred in his own plays with roles that he could cast himself.
