Why does Liza do the left arm up, fingers spread, head back as her signature pose?

I'm not saying I dont like it, just curious as to where it started and why thats her go-to pose?

She says Aznavour taught her how to use simple, strong gestures in song, but you have to put that into the perspective of what she learned from Fosse and what her mother was taught by Kay Thompson.
