Why does everyone hate Rosie so much?- Page 3

Rosie got strange. She began to loose her reputation as being so nice. It disillusioned me. However, I don't hate her. I think she has done a lot for Broadway. I'd love to see her however, produce a show that actually follows the tradition she loved as a child (and still loves)- a musical comedy.

And in response to the Tom Selleck incident:
That was certainly obnoxious. She is a bit outspoken I agree. But if we're talking about Broadway, I do not 100% agree with her choices (Grease, Taboo even Fidder), but has she promoted an done a lot for it marketing and well...love wise, certainly.

i love rosie...A LOT..i just don't think she should be performing on the Broadway stage..like...EVER...unless its a real vehicle written FOR HER. JMHO!
and now back to our regularly scheduled programming!

I think Rosie is fabulous...not as a singer though! She should stay away from vocally demanding roles. She is a great entertainer and actress especially in A League of Their Own. Props to Rosie always!

I think the thing with Rosie is that when she is herself, there really are few people more dynamic and compelling than she is. but give her a character to play.....

I wouldn't limit it to women. People just dont like abrassive people. Atleast I dont.

Well, there's a certain way that people act that in men, is for some reason an admirable quality, but in women, not. It bothers me.

from what i understand from reading this post, the majority of us love rosie. i don't think that it's the fans--let me rephrase--i don't think that it's THEATRE fans who hate her because as it has been pointed out several times, she has done and will continue to do a tremendous amount for the theatre community. having said that, i do think that those persons outside the 'broadway fan-base' (ie: reporters, reviewers, michael riedel) hold a particular animosity towards her because, let's face it, they love ya when you're up, but they love ya even more when you're down because it is so much easier for them to poke fun and ridicule you. and, unfortunately, they are NEVER going to let her live down Seussical OR Taboo. that's a fact.

I do not hate her. I have not seen her in anything

Her love of Broadway is unquestioned & she has done a lot to support it. For that alone, I am greatful
