#0Why is the PBS CRAZY FOR YOU not on DVD?
Posted: 4/12/04 at 3:12pmI remeber it aired a long time ago, and I only got to see act two. Does anyone know if it will ever be released on DVD or where I can find a video copy? Thanks!

Posted: 4/12/04 at 4:12pmI e-mailed PBS a month or two ago asking the same question and their reply was that they had no plans to release the show on dvd or vhs anytime in the near future. That was a really dissapointing answer becasue I absolutely love that show, hopefully they will change their mind soon. I don't understand why they wouldn't, they release most of their great performances onto vhs and DVD. it must be something to do with the rights.

they're reatarded! I was fortunate enough to be smart enough to record it when it first aired. If I'm not mistaken they only aired it once!

Posted: 4/12/04 at 4:32pmI saw it on a second time here in San Diego. You can imagine how frustrated I was when it was in the last ten minutes! Two opportunities to catch it, and tape it and I missed them both! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Haha... It is a great production. I also was fortunate to tape it off of television when it first aired. Loved seeing Bruce Adler and Jane Connell in their original roles. While we're at it. Can we get some other PBS shows? How about Paper Mill's Show Boat (1989) and Play On! (2000). Then there's the Live from Lincoln Center catalog: Candide (1986), A Little Night Music (1990), The Merry Widow (1996), Porgy and Bess (2002), and Contact (2002). Hell, just release them all!!!

Posted: 4/18/04 at 6:41pmBlame it on the pit musicians. That is why you will not see most recorded- live productions for PBS on dvd. There is a limited demand for such dvd's and the financial guarantees for the musicians are of such a large sum that it makes releasing the shows on DVD financially unfeasible.
