According to a friend of mine that was in the ensemble of Cry Baby with Spencer, he is barely a passable singer, but a fierce dancer. Maybe could take on a leading role in a dance review like a Jerome's Robbins Bwy or something
He choreographed another So You Think You Can Dance routine this week (maybe they've realized how lousy Tyce's Broadway numbers are finally? Tyce did two routines but neither were Broadway). Set to Razzle Dazzle I thought it was *great*--miles better than his last week... Maybe he's trying to get into choreography?
I was curious about Mr. Liff's voice and thought perhaps that might be the reason he's yet to be taken out of the chorus. I just want to add here that Mr. Liff is a brilliant dancer, has amazing stage presence and a joy to watch perform.
If he is not tone deaf, there is hope that through training he can improve his vocal instrument. I hope that he is working on doing just that.
I'd been curious about his voice since he was in The Wedding Singer but was pleasantly surprised by how good it was when he sang in "Far Out". Maybe he just prefers not to sing? Because he definitely can.
I also saw him in FAR OUT... and I have to disagree... I didn't think he sounded very good at all. I don't think he's a leading man because he can't really sing, act, or play a convincing straight man too well... He makes a wonderful chorus boy though
