I received the following information via e-mail from the producers of Wicked regarding a "$25 Ticket Lottery" for Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre:
A day-of-performance lottery for $25 front row seats will be held for WICKED. Each day 2 and 1/2 hours prior to scheduled show times, people who present themselves at the Gerswin Theatre Box Office will have their names placed in a hat. Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for 26 front-row seats at $25 each. The lottery is available only in person at the box office, with a limit of 2 tickets per person. Cash Only!
I saw and enjoyed Wicked during the San Francisco run and believe this offer is a great value. Front Row is not ideal for Wicked, given the spectacular staging effects. However, you would get to see Idina and Kristin up close and personal. If I were in New York, I would try and take advantage of this promotion before it becomes well known.
I wonder what if there is a high demand yet for these 25 buck seats yet? Seems like a great opportunity and you don't even have to stand in line all day! Definitely better odds than playing Lotto!
