Hello. I was just wondering, what is the name of the guy in Wicked who sings "Dancing Through Life"? I listened to that song yesterday and I noticed that the person who sings that has a really nice voice. And is he also in Rent? Because in the song "Rent" there's this guy who sings very similar to him.

His name is norbert leo butz, and no he was not in rent

Norbert Leo Butz. He was Rogers standby for the OBC of RENT and then went on to do a few other shows (The Last Five Years, Thou Shalt Not...) and played Fiyero in the OBC of Wicked. He is now playing Freddy in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and won his first Tony a month ago for it.

And the guy on RENT who sounds simliar to him is Adam Pascal, the original Roger, for whom Norbert was the understudy.

I actually noticed similarities between the two the first time I heard the Wicked OBC... but now NLB is a Tony-winner for DRS jedimusicalsinger

I have to laugh...I've been a huge fan of Norbert's since he was an understudy/swing in Rent. I remember praying to see the understudy board with the hope that he would be on in some capacity. (Loved his Roger, but he was a BRILLIANT Mark.) It was funny to see how upset people were to come in, see that Adam Pascal or Anthony Rapp were out and be very disappointed (understandably). We used to joke that Norbert was the "poor man's Adam Pascal."

It's been great to watch his career progress over the last 7 years - the best thing going in Thou Shalt Not, TL5Y (fabulous!), Wicked (a wasted role on him, but I digress), and now, DRS.

Now that he's won his well-deserved Tony, I wonder, who is the "poor man's Norbert?"

Don't forget to mention that he did take over as full-time Roger after Adam left.
