Wicked

I know you will kill me for this but...

I have never seen Wicked nor heard the recording, and I was wondering if one of you Wicked fans out there could tell give me like a plot synopsis or something?? I know it's about the witches in Wizard of Oz before Dorothy came along.
the reason for this is it's coming to my hometown and want to have an idea of what it's about before I see it. Thanks!!

re: Wicked

Hello.
The website for WICKED: The Musical is http://www.wickedthemusical.com There are also links for the London, LA, Chicago and tour sites.
It's based on the novel by Gregory Maguire.

re: Wicked

the website doesn't really give a story outline or who the characters are.

re: Wicked

Oh, hunny.

re: Wicked

I have to say, just looking around on BWW you could learn the plot to Wicked.
#7

re: Wicked

Oh my goodness! That looks simply AMAZING!! I hope I can afford to go see it.
#8

re: Wicked

its probably already sold out
Now all I see are cute boys with short haircuts in a maze of their own...
#9

re: Wicked

It's sold out until the world implodes. Then it will be at 98.2% capacity.
SondheimGeek: Is it slightly pathetic that you guys get to be Jedi bitches, and I'm Bitchy the Hutt?
LizzieCurry: No, you're more memorable

re: Wicked

98.2? It must close, when it was at 99.9 last week, the producers had palpitations.

re: Wicked

There are five people on the earth. Four of them make up the wicked cast, and the fifth one watches. The guy who watches lost his toe, so that's the other 2.8%.

re: Wicked

I know its simply disgraceful! I just became a theatre nut a few months ago so I'm not that well educated in it or anything.

; )

re: Wicked

ughhhh. I just checked and it's not sold out but there are no good seats left either = (

Guess I'll just wait until next time around

re: Wicked

Don't listen to most of the people on here. They are all anti-Wicked because of its commercial success with mainstream America. If you have a chance to see Wicked, take it. You will probably enjoy the show. Plus, if it is coming near you on tour, take the opportunity to save yourself a trip to NYC, London, Chicago, etc. to see it. While you are enjoying yourself at the show, all of the Wicked-snobs will be sitting here on the message boards turning up their noses.

re: Wicked

Any seat in any theatre where WICKED is playing is good re: Wicked Go ahead and see it. You won't regret it, trust me re: Wicked

There are some VERY rude and snobby people on this board. Don't let it discourage you re: Wicked

re: Wicked

It's not the greatest show ever, but it's definately something that entertains...I like it, it's really a great night at the theatre.
How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

re: Wicked

Are you suggesting that I'm a "VERY rude and snobby" person on this board?
#19

re: Wicked

Oh yes, Eponine specifically said that 'actor' was a very rude and snobby person.

Good lord.

re: Wicked

Most of us don't hate Wicked.
In fact, as much as I bash the show, I think its a nice night at the theatre, not the best, but nice.

We hate the fans and the amazing hype it gets.
We also hate the immaturaity that comes with being a Wicked screaming-fan girl (WSFG) (example post by a WSFG: I luv Wikud, itz da bezt)

-I'm a HUGE fan of WICKED. You hate me? I don't believe we've ever met.

- I am a 32 year old college graduate who is by no means a WSFG or whatever that is.

re: Wicked

I don't understand why we need to argue about what someone can or cannot like.

I like Wicked. I don't like the insane fans (That is true with any show). When I said "....*pause*....*begins to sob*" I was referring to the fact that Lizzy couldn't find the synopsis on the Wicked home page or on Google OR on the search feature. This was prior to realizing that she was new to the board. No offense, Lizzy.

re: Wicked

hey, it's no big deal! = ) I'm really hoping I can go!

re: Wicked

You don't really need a good seat to see Wicked
#25

re: Wicked

wow, its been so long since I've heard of someone not knowing of wicked! hehe. No, its an AMAZING show, and you should def def try and go see it if you can :) I've never seen it live myself (but.. make no mistake.. there are some VERY good... things.. out there, if you get my drift), but its the kind of show where I'd imagine any seat is pretty good.

and um.. this is just me and my idina obsession, but really, if you happen to get the chance to see it in London within the next few months, please, TAKE IT :) wicked is always enjoyable, but its so much more with idina in it. (and Eden's a VERY close second- REALLY close)
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
