Two Wicked CD Comments:
*Does anyone know if there'll be a London Cast Recording of Wicked?
* What if they made a Wicked studio album using different members from different casts for each song (i.e. Idina on Defying Gravity, Ana on No Good Deed). I understand that this would be VERY VERY VERY VERY unlikely, but wouldn't it be cool??

I think its probably fairly likely that there will be a London cast recording for WICKED - given that the show is indeed a success there.
It's probably fairly unlikely that they would do any type of studio recording of the show though, unless a major celebrity took over one of the roles. Production costs and Equity rules have made recording an incredibly expensive proposition - that's one reason why they don't really do multiple recordings for any musical.

I just think it would be cool if they did a London recording, that since so many people now know what goes on in Wicked, they the ending on the CD is the full show ending, rather that a few bits. But i know that probably wont happen. Also it would be great to get an "official
" recording of "wicked witch of the east"

"yep, people where really suprised when Brooke got a recording for Wonderfull Town."
But she didn't really. She just re-sang Donna Murphy's tracks.

That whole deal was a sorry excuse for a cast recording. I can't believe she had the nerve to just record over Donna's vocals. Talk about sad...

I agree. Preferably with Cristy Candler singing it. But, that's probably not going to happen.

They could also do what they did with all the Grand Dame's who played Norma Desmond in SUNSET BOULEVARD - and just record a single with the two or three "big" numbers on it.
Of course, the thing is - besides the fans of the show - most people have no idea who Eden, Stephanie, Kendra and Megan are - so there would be absolutely no demand once those performers had left the show - and contracts for WICKED are relatively short.
If they were to ever do a PINK/GREEN album, I would think they'd go after named recording artists to do it - which might actually be more fun. I'd rather hear Celine Dion do DEFYING GRAVITY. If I want to hear Stephanie or Ana, I can just go on limewire, if you get my drift...
