Hey guys,
So saw Wicked for the third time FRONT ROW CENTER (lotto!!) and it was amazing as ever. Being that close, it was unreal. Dee and Annaleigh are hilarious and mix well together. Annaleigh's "Popular" is the funniest I've ever seen. It went on a little longer because of all the crazy stuff she did! and Dee's "Wizard and I," "Defying Gravity," and "No Good Deed" were the best I've ever heard. Her new "Look to the Western Sky" was shocking and mind-blowing to hear live, as was her "Fiyero" during NGD, which was like eden's last x 1000 because of her crystal-clear, poweful voice. Oh my god it was amazing being there. Kristoffer was okay. He seemed really quiet AGAIN... his singing was okay. Rondi, Stanton, Gene, and Heidi were all fantastic, Stanton and Heidi especially. Overall, the best I've seen from Wicked, and I'm now REALLY sad that it's closing in just 2 months..
So side note: Being right behind the conductor, it was so much fun to watch him. We would sing along in "One Short Day" and other songs, and would make funny faces, interactions with the other pit members.
So spoke to people at Stage Door last night, probably old news, but Rondi Reed will do her last Mme. Morrible in about a week and a half, open August:OC in London, then do Wicked on Broadway(!!).
And I don't know if this is a mistake by Playbill, but they've started handing out Playbills for Wicked that have 2 replacements in them: Barbara Robertson for Rondi and Ted Ely for Stanton Nash as Boq. I don't know if that means Ted will start as Boq soon, or even if Stanton's leaving. May be just a misprint? Anyone know?
