Do a lot of people typically show up for the rush tickets in Chicago? Basically, how difficult is it to get tickets this way, lately?

Posted: 2/7/06 at 4:51pmUsually, if you get there before the lottery, you should be one of the first in line. From what I've seen, a lot that don't win the lotto end up getting in line, and that's when it really starts to build up.

GilmoreGirlO2,
Thanks for the info. I'm confused though, (and really tired right now - sorry) does that mean that people who dont get tix as part of the rush seats, still end up getting tickets at regular price?
I'm driving down just to see the show, but it's sold out and want to know if it's a good chance I'll get tix.
I appreciate your help and advice. :)

Posted: 2/7/06 at 5:56pmThere really are no rush tickets, just lotto or cancellations. So if you don't wanna do the lotto (which is two hours before the show), go to the Ford Center's box office and wait there two hours before the show (so you beat the people who didn't win the lotto). Then you will PROBABLY be first in line, and have a really good chance at getting a cancellation ticket (which is $100).

Posted: 2/7/06 at 5:58pmIm not sure what this person is talking about, but...the LOTTERY, not rush, usualy gets about 35-100 people depending on the day. Weekdays such as tuesday and wednesday usualy only get about 35-50 people and sometimes they have Limited View seats up for lottery in addition to the first 2 rows. These seats arent bad at all, live seen wicked twice from LV seats once in the 5th row of the orch and again in the 5th row of the balcony. Their not that bad. Fridays, Sat and sun. usualy get alot more people and the lottery is at Borders. Ive been to two lotterys on sundays they both had about 50-60 people. Not bad at all compared to NY. I would try it on tuesday or wed. but im not sure where your going. Theres a good chance of getting seats. Ive never heard of people going after the lottery and buying tickets right on the spot. I have heard of some people going before the show and buying tickets that people turned back in cus they couldnt go to the show at the box office. This is usualy just a right place right time thing. They might form a line and then sell these, but I have never heard of it.
