My BF was visiting from out of town this week and we tryed the Wicked raffle for the 7th time in about six months. We didn't win again but I would say around 900 people were waiting on Friday night. Is Cheno leaving soon? Maybe that's why...
you forgot to type this in the sarcastic font!
LOL.
Yes, Kristin Chenoweth's last performance is tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to the show but if anyone tries the lottery, would you mind reporting an approx. number of the ridiculous amount of people who are sure to show up tomorrow afternoon for the lottery?
Yes.. sadly the Sunday, July 18th show is her last one. Hey, anyone going to see her at Carnegie Hall !!???
Anyone know if people are camping out already for cancelation tix?

i'm going to try the lotto/cancellation line. WISH ME LUCK!!
If you want cancelation tix, you'd better be typing from a laptop in front of the Gershwin, because I know there's already gonna be a few groups of tweens out there with their boom boxes and WICKED kareoke CD's.

i know! gotta love him! i'm going for the lotto mostly. it would be a miracle if i got in!
I went this morning (Sat. July 17th) for cancellation tickets and I got there at 6:45 am. There were 4 people ahead of me, who got 7 tickets total. I got the 8th ticket for the matinee, orchestra row c center. A lot of people behind me got tickets. I'm sure Sunday will be harder, though, because it's Cheno's last performance. Today's was amazing; I can't wait to hear about Sunday! Both actresses cried multiple times. The lottery today was crazy, by the way. I'm not good at estimating numbers, but I would say about 1000 for the evening performance and around the same for the matinee. Updated On: 7/17/04 at 08:39 PM
1000 people?! whoa, that's crazy to imagine...it's become a CULT!!!

holy crap! i'm so not gonna get in tomorrow! god PLEASE!!!
Try getting there.....NOW! Seriously follow Matt_G's advice to getting there extremely early, before 6 even.
If you are only going for the lottery, you dont have to arrive early. You just have to get there before they stop taking names.
The funniest part is when someone wins and they scream like they just won the lottery :) lol... I always think "they do know it's not free right?" :P

haha that's what i'll be like if i win! i'd be like "OMFG!! I WON!! AH! I GET TO SEE KRISTIN AND NORBERT! WHOO!' i'd jump around like a lunatic. then i'd probably get arrested for that.
How many tickets do they give out for the lottery anyway?
26, which means usually 13 people because you can request 2.
thanks #1, also, are cancellation tickets full price or are they discounted? (not just Wicked but other shows too)
Wicked is full price, I'm pretty sure most others are as well.
Last question I promise lol
Rush tickets are cheaper...but are they usually Rear Mezz. or something other than Orchestra?
There is no rush to Wicked, but rush really does depend on the theatre. I've gotten great rush before (especially Wonderful Town recently), and not-so-great (saw Fiddler the day it opened Rush and sat last row Mezz - and the Minskoff is HUGE!). Really all depends on the theatre.
WICKED rush tickets (lottery tickets) are in the front row of the theatre. A few other shows do it that way now, including RENT & AVENUE Q however the majority of theatres that still offer rush seats will have them towards the back.
Thanks Matt and starlyricist, I've had the overall idea of rush/lottery etc. but wanted to get it down. Greatly appreciated.
