Took a trip into the city with my friends today and finally got into Wicked via lottery. The seats were great and I love the new button they give you that says "I Won the Wicked Lottery" The show was great as usual and Shosh was amazing as Elphie. The casting decisions at Wicked ahve proven to be quite amazing so far since they got JLT and Shosh who are both so amazingly great.
were there a lot of lotto people?
how was boq and fiyero..in your opinion?

The lottery was pretty packed for a Wednesday matinee (but it's President's Week: all of the little kids and parents) maybe about 200 people. I have seen 3 different Fiyero's and 3 different Boq's...I liked David Ayers as Fiyero a lot for two main reasons. 1) Him and Shosh have great chemistry and actually are affectionate towards ine ach other in "As Long As You're Mine" and 2) He has a nice upper-register. I like the new Boq...not my favorite vocally, but makes you really feel about his passion for Glinda and has good comic timing.

There were alittle more than 200. Maybe 250-3? The show was AMAZING yesterday! No understudies! Shoshana was completely AMAZING!
They give out buttons now? I won the lottery during Idina Menzel's last week and they weren't giving them out then. Wahhh I want one!

They arent buttons...they are pins. They've been giving them out for awhile because I won the lotto in December and they gave it out. They only give it out to the winners.

I have never tried the lottery but always thought about doing it. So I tried for DRS lotto and my friend and I won! I officially love the lottery now. Someone asked me why they do the lotto and I just said well Its kinda a fun thing to do. It gives everyone a chance for good seats, even if you don't have a lot of money. Are there any other reasons for the lottos?
Man I wish I lived in NY then I would probably enter the lottery at least once a week.
Do you have to pay at all to just enter the lotto for Wicked tix? (Obviously you pay if you win).

The purpose of the Lottery system is probably because Rush tickets is really just on a first-come first-serve basis. If you have a lotto, everyone has an equal chance.
they do the loto also because it gets some energy at the front of the house. rather than having all the rich oldies sit up there with no energy!
Ilovewicked, Buttons mean Pins. Huh?

Oo. I was thinking of a button like a button that closes a shirt or something along those lines...
I was a lottery person that day too...:)...haha...third person called and I totally flipped. Seats 107 and 108! AHHHH!
Merrydothe...when you win the lottery you get like one of those round buttons...a green one that says I won the Wicked lottery!
The lottery...basically you get on line...write your name on a piece of green paper...and wait...and see if you're one of the roughly 13-16 people who get called. Cause there are 26 seats I believe. Though I got there ridiculously early and spent and hour and a half waiting in the cold cause I was early...I was first on line...though honestly that does not matter at all.
Compared the the amount of people there the past two times I went well...it wasn't that crowded...but then again I tried to get tickets to the last few shows w/ Menzel...where lines went around the block.
I've never seen it with Menzel so I can't add to the Menzel/Shoshana war...though Sho did an awesome job during No Good Deed. Okay...FYI...seat 107 is terribly during defying gravity because the spotlight illuminating Elphie is right in your eye. o_0 Aryers is just HOT...period.
i want a button. im seeing it wednesday and already have tickets...but maybe ill find someone with a button and buy it from them! i would wear it everyday
I won the Avenue Q lottery back in July...it was great and so easy. Threw my name in about 2 min. before the drawing and was the 2nd name called.
"Are there any other reasons for the lottos?"
I believe the lotto started with Rent. Rush became so popular that kids were lining up over night and sleeping on the streets. Producers/the people in charge didn't want to be liable if anything happened to people waiting over night in front of their theatre. So a lottery system was started so it didn't matter when you showed up.
This is what I heard (I believe from this board) I could be wrong.
Sounds about right TGIF.....
