If they are the same seats from the last time the show was in town, and I guess they are since it's in the same theatre, then no, they aren't that bad. Definitely limited view. They do normal lotto first for the 1st row, and then do lotto for the side orchestra seats, which I actually prefer. But they also tell you before pulling the extra names so you can decide if you want those tickets or not.
Anna, are you basing that off of then Wicked first came to SF? Because I got that info from someone who recently won lotto, but was told that front row was not being given out, and instead got bad seats.
And um, It's not the same theater. When Wicked was first here, I believe they played at the curran..not the Orpheum
Won first preview - didn't go, was getting a friend in (hey, it worked! That *never* happens!) - fourth name called, and got a ticket on the left-hand block, second row. As far as I could gather, only the side seats were lottery, not the actual front row.
