Sorry to bother you guys with this, but the cast of the tour is leaving the 29th, correct? Of May..that is. If so, will the Chicago cast just take over right away? Probably within the time of the next performance?
Also, I was browsing tickets, and is $198 a good price for Orch-Row F?
And why do the ticket sections say Orch Center and just Orch? What's the difference? How are you supposed to tell if it's center, left, right if it just says "Orch"? That's what makes me jittery about those Row F prices.

I thought the tour was leaving mid-June and the sit-down production was starting June 24. Unless things have changed... I dont know anything about prices in Chicago or how they label their tickets, but I would assume if they specify some as Orch Center, then the ones called Orch would be off to the sides. Just a guess though

I believe the tour's last Chicago show is June 12th. At least that's what all the papers say...
April 29 - June 12, 2005 (6.5 week engagement)
Taken from the site. Should've thought of that. And the site jumps from June 12th to June 25th, so that must be the new production.
But why would they specify the ones to the side then? How am I supposed to know if I'm getting ripped off or not?! T____T Jeebus. I'll probably try and find Orch-Center tickets...I saw some for 230 not too long ago.
Now I'm trying to decide whether I want tickets for Steph or Ana. Probably Ana, but I really want to see Stephanie again! Decisions, decisions.
Does anyone actually know how the separate sections are in the Oriental Theatre? Loge, Dress Circle, Balcony, Side and Center Orch...I think I sat in middle Balcony last time, and it was...liveable. But I really want to try for closer seats. So where do you Chicagoans recommend?

This'll be my first time at the Oriental (on SUNDAY!!! yay), so I have no idea... doesn't Ticketmaster online usually have seating charts?
Oh, yeah, I have a really great seating chart. I just want to know how the views are from each separate section. Here's the chart I use anyway.

The touring cast is leaving June 12th, I believe.
Almost all the Wicked tickets are a rip-off now. I've never had to pay more than $90 for an individual ticket to a show in Chicago before (never paid more than $180 for 2 tickets to a Chicago show), and these stupid tickets are selling like $360 per pair. Its a ripoff, I tell you! *le sigh* Nevertheless, people are actually willing to pay this.
Anyway, the Oriental Theatre is kind of similar to the Cadillac in seating sections, and I must say that the Dress Circle view is ABYSMAL. I'd much rather be in the balcony nosebleed section than there. ANYWHERE but the dress circle. Anywhere...
Good luck with the tickets!
disclaimer: i mean no offense to the touring cast in saying this
why in the hell are tickets for the TOUR more than those for broadway?
Because its already completely sold out and because its a sure thing at this point (i.e. Stephanie J. Block has gotten rave reviews, deservedly so... we don't know what the Chicago cast is like yet).

Tickets AREN'T more expensive in Chicago, unless you are buying from a scalper. Top ticket prices are $85.
And you are of course free to buy whatever you want, but buying from scalpers is totally insane. It's an open-ended run. Buy them for a little bit later and don't get ripped off.

"Also, I was browsing tickets, and is $198 a good price for Orch-Row F?"
Woah! Are you buying from ticketmaster? Because the most expensive tickets I found on there a month ago were $120 (center orchestra). I only paid 80 for mine and I'm in C in left orchestra (for the sit-down). If you're getting your tickets from ticketmaster it should say either C, L, or R to indicate which section it's in. If not then sorry I don't know.
The tour is leaving after the June 12th performance. After that, there will be ten days of no shows (I believe) for tech rehersals for the sit down cast.
I'll probably go try the lotto for the sitdown cast. Or see if the box office has any more left....Maybe I'll go shopping while I'm in town.
I would suggest Orch..I sat in the Oriental for the tour a week ago and was 2nd row center..i didn't miss a thing and it was the best to see all the cast's faces!
try the lotto! often!
