Posted: 10/11/04 at 7:40pmI also own the Piano/Vocal Selections book and I like how they turn the ensemble numbers into solos. They created a song out of "Thank Goodness" called "I Couldn't Be Happier". I have a kareoke cd of Wicked also. It's called "Sing the Songs of Wicked" and even though the music sound very professional, they have all the songs in their original version, so you can't actually perform them anywhere. Still, it's a good, professional sounding cd, and I would reccomend it. I also haven't had the priveledge of seeing Wicked on stage, but I will as soon as it comes up North.

Posted: 10/13/04 at 6:39pmIf you're wondering what other actresses have played Elphaba, I believe Stephanie Block and Julia Murney played the role in some readings. On Broadway Idina has been the only *true* Elphaba, but her standbys have been Eden Espinosa and now Shoshana Bean. Who knows who will replace Idina, but I'd say Stephanie Block, Julia Murney, Sherie Rene Scott and either Eden or Shoshana are all good choices.
