Where are the lotto seats? Are they the good seats? How do they figure out which seats they are giving away, since the run is sold out?

I saw the matinee last Saturday. Only the understudy for Elphiba was in as the lead played Glinda.

I was a bit disappointed in the singing of the Elphiba role (but my comparison is having seen Idina twice in New York and the lead in Dallas whose name escapes me). The actress playing Glinda was very good and brought her own cuteness and twists to the role. I saw JLT in New York and thought this actress was very comparable, singing and acting.

I was not particularly fond of this Boc. I thought Nessarose, Madam Morrible and the Wizard were all quite good.

Fiero was good also although not quite as good as the actor in New York (the dude from that boy band).

All in all the show was very good, although I missed the singing that Idina and the actress in Dallas brought to that role.

I saw Wicked in Atlant on Tuesday and it was fantastic! Kendra Kassebaum was hilarious and Julia Murney was phenomenal! Have fun!

Saw it on Wednesday but I'm thinking of doing lottery on Sunday. Anyone else? I really wanted to meet Julia on Wednesday but I was with a group, none of which wanted to stay.

My friend saw it this weekend, and said Kendra was terrific. He saw Victoria instead of Julia, but thought she was marvelous.

All in all, I have heard good reviews.

I saw last Saturday's matinee in Atlanta and as was previously said, Kendra was in, but Julia was out. I was pleased with Maria's performance as Elphaba, and all in all, the show was very solid.

My daughter attended yesterday's matinee in Atlanta, and was confused about who was playing Glinda, and whether there were two understudies in the performance she saw, or none. She's 17 and thought the performance was "pretty amazing," so she just wanted to know for sure who she was watching.

Anybody attended yesterday's matinee that can verify who was in it? Much thanks.

It was Victoria Matlock(standby for Elphaba) as Elphaba and Annaleigh Ashford(understudy for Glinda) as Glinda. Hope that helps!

Was anyone else totally surprised by the number of people that showed up for the lottery? I didn't know anyone in Atlanta knew about it. Last night there had to be 100 people there. Crazy. The only reason my friend and I won was that one person didn't answer her name. We were the re-draw. I just... didn't know so many people in Atlanta cared that much. If I hadn't been so nervous about getting a ticket, I might have been excited.

On the question about the lottery-- (and this might be better in another thread, since Wicked has ended, and I'm interested for Rent and future shows)

Are those standing room only tickets? How many do they sell that way before the performances?

I have a budget-conscious family, living 2+ hours away from Atlanta, but it sounds like it might be worth a shot to come in on a Friday afternoon, spend the night and try for a couple of lottery tickets for Fri PM, Sat matinee or Sat PM--would it?

The understudies were wonderful. I loved Victoria and Annaleigh. They won me over the minute they came onstage. I couldn't believe how many people were there in that HUUUGE theater. FosseBoi, you couldn't miss me, I was in jeans and a "Kiss My Ass" shirt and bleached blonde hair among all the little high school rich kids in their sunday best, with the exception of all the boys trying to pass off preppy khakis and polos with flip-flips as church wear.

I was really glad that the crowd was enthralled by the show. They ate up EVERYTHING. Every joke, every song, every little thing about it. It was a good time.

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. When I saw the 2:00 show on the 27th, the understudy Elphaba and the lead Galinda performed. Had they not said that she was the understudy, I never would have known. She was awesome! I loved Kendra's Galinda; so funny!

As for comparing to the OBC: Compared to the CD, the vocals weren't as strong, but compared to what I saw of Idina on the Tony Awards, it was a lot better. Maybe she was just nervous at the awards or something, but I thought it sounded horrible.
