I have seen Wicked in New York twice and saw the tour last fall in Dallas. I have tickets for Saturday in Atlanta but it appears that the tour actors change a lot.
What can I expect out of the crew that is on tour now and currently in Atlanta.
Any insight will be great

Posted: 5/19/06 at 9:57pmWell, I've never seen it in New York, so I can't compare it, but I saw it twice in Atlanta yesterday, and it was so...I really can't find the words. I don't see how it could have been any better. If you're going to a matinee, look for the 2 lead witches to be out, but their standbys are great.

So since I'm going to the Matinee on the 28th, the last day in Atl, do you think I'll get the standbys?

Well, the actors are contracted to do 8 shows a week and professionals do 8 shows a week. I don't see why they would skip. Granted it's a heavy role, but I'm sure they're equipped for it.
So, I got an email that said there were tickets left, but I can't find ANY on ticketmaster.com - do any of you have any codes or anything for limited view seats, etc.

Hey BromstickBoy! Remember me?
I have the same question as him, since I'm going to the same performance. Thanks!

If you were referring to a Wicked lottery, yes, they will have one 2 1/2 hours before every show. The day I was there, almost noone showed up for the matinee, and they actually had lotto seats left over! If you meant a Rent lottery, I don't know, but since Rent started the lottery, I'd assume they would have one.
From what I've heard on here, it's common for the tour Glinda/Elphaba to be out for the matinees. They were out the day I was there, but were back for the evening show, so I'm only assuming that they don't do matinees.

RentBoy86, they claim to have some partial view and a few full view seats left, but when I go to Ticketmaster, they always say there are no seats available. What WE did was hang around the booth after the lottery. I suppose we got cancelled tickets, but they were VERY good seats: Row H, right-center.
Some good advice: don't harass the people at the ticket counter! We waited patiently, while 2 other women were cackling like hens at the poor guys..."What are we waiting for? How long do we wait? Don't you have ANYTHING?" I don't think they got very good seats.

Posted: 5/20/06 at 9:41amjust DON'T by the book WICKED: THE GRIMMERIE from their oz dust boutique! they mark it up to $50, and you can get it from amazon for $25!
#17re: Wicked in Atlanta questions
Posted: 5/20/06 at 9:47amI noticed that too! The most ridiculous one I can think of is when I saw CATS, and they had the DVD on sale for $45, and I had paid about $15 for mine, brand new. I guess they count on you being pumped up after the show and willing to spend whatever.

that should be against the damn law! if i'd known that book was available ANYWHERE, i never would have bought it.
btw ... are lottery tickets reduced price or full price??
EDIT: oh, i see they are $25. never mind!

Posted: 5/20/06 at 2:55pmWell, I don't live in ATL. I'm off work Wednesday and I wouldn't mind driving the 2.5hrs to ATL to see the show, but I don't want to go not knowing if I'm going to get tickets or not, ya know? I love Julia Murney though.
#23re: Wicked in Atlanta questions
Posted: 5/21/06 at 10:56pmwe got lottery tickets this evening. third row but way over to the left. no bad for seeing it the 2nd time though. kendra and murney were again in top form! wonderful!
#24re: Wicked in Atlanta questions
Posted: 5/22/06 at 2:22amI figure since the 28th is the last show in Atlanta, they'll both be in for both shows. Julia's the reason I bought the ticket so I really hope to see her. I've heard people have seen her at a matinee, but that's just word of mouth. I'm just paranoid.
